without a light the easiest way is to loosen the nut holding the distributor down(after the car is running). not a whole lot just want to break it loose. then you can rotate the distributor either way but in small incriments. you will be able to hear the difference in the idle. once you have it make sure you tighten the bolt back down. i hope thats what youre looking for.

Thank you. I have been reading that people say 12 deg is a good advancement with running 93 octane. How do i tell if its 12 deg? Is there numbers?

Yes there will be numbers etched into the balancer. Before you start though you may want to get under the car and clean it up a bit to make sure you can see the numbers good. Alot of times they get dirty and there hard to see.

Do not listen the the above instructions. You need to have a timing light to do this correctly. Adjusting w/o one there is no way to tell where the timing is set.
