Default snapped the centre pin bolt!

SONOFA..........MONKEY!


So.... All was going good everything was ready to come out... and it snapped, suggestions?

um....what exactly are you doing? center pin bolt as in you're doing your gears?

Yes, doing gears, swapping the 3.55s in place of the factory 308s.

The bolt that retains the centre pin is the one that broke

Unfortunatley not.... The bolt snapped inside the carrier. I dont have an angle drill either...

Attempted to hammer the whole centre pin out.... FAIL... also managed to smash my thumb with a 3lb sledge...

i had the same thing happen to me. remove the main cap from the side you will need to drill from, it gives you more room to lay the drill down. You dont have to dril in very far. just enough to slide a small screw driver in and tap it in place with a hammer, then just twist it out

I will post pictures of why we dont hit the cast carrier with a hammer.... and Why we should ALWAYS heat the retaining bolt before removing it.
