Default shifters

i just swapped a tremec 3550 into my 94 gt and the trmemc has a steeda tri-ax shifter and i was wondering if it would hurt anything to put the handle part (that bolts on with two bolts) off of my pro 5.0 shifter onto the tri-ax. its not the actual shifter just the extension piece that the ball screws onto

Yeah, if it fits and works easier for you, go for it. In the end the point is to be able to shift it quickly and cleanly.
