AMMETER NEEDLE IS JUMPING
I just noticed today that while sitting at idle and driving down the road the needle on my ammeter is jumping around quickly kind of like a pulsing deal. I do have underdrive pulleys and a stock alternator, still charging at 14.5 but i'm wondering if the regulator is giving me problems and sending goofy readings on my ammeter. Did notice that my back up lights pulsing as well while this is all happening. If anybody had this happen or even a clue is to what to look at i would be thankful. Car starts fine so i don't think it's the battery but i can't rule that out either.

I would have someone with a multi-meter check out the amps/volts while you are in the car. Make sure you actually have a problem first. Also are you having this trouble at night, while running stereo, heat/AC, or other electrical devices. Could be hard for a stock alt. to keep up with the demand at idle if this is true. When you are driving and higher RPM then your alt will be outputting mroe power.

i'm not even running anything and didn't seem to do it as bad while the lights were on, pulsing had slowed down but still was doing it, but yea doesn't seem to do it as bad or at all when i'm runing it a little hard
