Question Removing Quad Shocks?

What do quad shocks do and are they really needed because today I had my fox jacked up and I realized that my wheels are rubbing. I am running 245/45/r17's up front and back. And what size can I run in the front to make the tire in the front look thinner or smaller than the back?

The quad shocks are there because the stock rubber control arm bushings have too much front to back play and this results in wheel hop. If you have aftermarket control arms, or aftermarket bushings, rather, you can remove the quad shocks without having wheel hop.

Make the fronts 245/40/r17s and they will have a lower profile than the 245/45/r17s.

Try flipping them over. That should give you more clearance.

Yes this is an easy trick too.You can also roll the inner lip on the rear quarter to help from cutting into oversize tires.

If I flip them over, will they bolt on with no fabricating?

I have aftermarket upper and lower control arms, lowering springs, KYB shocks and KYB quad shocks on my 88. I have 245/45ZR17 on 17x9 rims and they do not rub at all in the back. The fronts are 235/45ZR17, and they do rub when I turn the wheel all the way. I have heard that fox body Mustangs built in the 90s have bigger wheel wells.....
