Default fuel rail How to disconnect???

I am trying to dig through all this mess to get my lower intake man off. I came to a hault when i was trying to seperate the 2 chrome tubes attaching to the fuel rails. There were 2 clips tthat i disconnected and i tried to pull the tubes apart and got no results.

I wanted to also add, when removing the lower intake is there anything i should do or be careful of. I have drained the coolant already and marked hoses the best i could with tape, but i still think its going to be a nightmare to re assemble. While i have all this mess apart i plan on cleaning it up, getting the ports smoothed out. I have money to spend so what are some little upgrades i could do while i have everything off here. I dont ever want to pull this off again Haha I dont tear apart engine that often. Thank you guys! hope you can help me here first with these fuel rails

What you need to to do is this.

And you can buy anyone of these for probably for $8-$10 at your local Auto Parts store to do just that.

But I've had better luck using these.

If you have the money, get a Haynes manual. It will be a big help when you are trying to take things apart. Not trying to rip you but my manual helped me out with what you are attempting to do.

coolant is leaking onto the ground and is also being burnt in my #8 cylinder. I know its leaking from the heads or the lower intake and i am going to replace gaskets and check the condition of everything.
