Ok so the rear portion of the oil pan is leaking. I really dont want to pull the engine...so can i drain the pan and hit it with brake cleaner and RTV the rear section?? Does anyone have experience with that...

Oh i know it isnt coming from the Rear main i just replaced the Flexplate and i saw it coming from the oil pan.

loosen motor mounts, jack motor up and sometimes i LOOSEN K-MEMBER BOLTS TO DROP IT DOWN a tad for extra pan clearance for pick up, and replace gasket

did you use black RTV silicone in the corners of the gasket?

did you use thread sealer on your flywheel bolts?

you're always supposed to use RTV in the corners... odds are, that is where you are leaking

wow, deja vu, im having the same problem, and was about to ask about the fix

Would it be a good idea to run a small bead of RTV along the main cap grove and the gasket peice to ensure a good seal, my problem was i didnt put enough highly likely

My does the same ****. I just replaced my gasket with a Ford Racing one piece gasket and it leaks a little from the back. It'll just have to leak, that was a PITA job to drop the pan with the motor in.
