if I were closer I would, ......most shops may take a ride with you for no charge, but to diagnosis there most likely would be charges

No it's the big nut. I think 1" behind the rear universal joint. It holds the pinion flange onto the pinion shaft.

it could be a pinion bearing, mine went on my stock setup for some reason, so i took that as a nice chance to install 3.73s
