Front 5 Lug Conversion Done
Well I completed the 5 Lug conversion on the front of my 85 LX Coupe. I went with the 1983 Ford Ranger 2WD rotors.
I thought the info I put together might be helpful to others wanting to do this and keep the stock spindles and 10" brakes.
New rotors, bearings, calipers, brake pads and brake lines. I went with the 10" rotors.
-1983 Ford Ranger 2WD rotors. Advanced Auto
-85 V8 Mustang inner bearing on the Ford Ranger race. Bearing fit the Ranger race.
-85 V8 Mustang inner bearing seal. Fit perfect.
-85 V8 Mustang outer bearing and race. Fit perfect.
-1983 Ranger bearing dust caps.
-The calipers and pads are all 85 V8 Mustang. I just replaced new just to do it.
I know this isn't the way allot of people do it. I could of went with 87 to 93 spindles and Mark VII rotors or something like that but as far as I am concerned, this way worked out great and I am happy.
Here are some measurements I took to compair for wheel fitment. I used my digital caliper to take all measurements.
