speed density problem?
 

i installed a upper and lower intake on my 86 gt would that cause it to run rich due to the speed density issue i mean it idles ok and runs decent but its rich and doesnt seem 110% perfect so think that would do it?

Speed denstiy is very sensitive,ecspecally when you mess with intake mods.The only way really to mod a sd car succesfully is to swap it to mass air.

yeah, definetly swap over to mass air. You will HAVE to if you plan to do any more mods.

Make sure you don't have any small vaccum leaks.
What is the timing set at?
I have no problems at all with my car.

Where would you get a kit to sway it to mass air? Where is the speed density sensor located?

the map sensor is on the fire wall it is a small 2" by 4" black box with a vac. line running to it behind the intake. they are also used on mass air cars but with no vac. and then are called bap sensors B.A.P. stands for Barometric atmospheric pressure it measure atmospheric pressure. the M.A.P. Manifold Absolute Pressure Manifold pressure on the absolute pressure scale an indication of engine load.the ecc reads the vac. from manifold press. and moves the fuel rich or lean from the map reading.

i have the mass air conversion just havat install it hopefully it cures the rich condition
