Default Which AFR heads should I get

Ok I just sold a few things and im selling my gt-40x heads so I have enough to buy a new set of AFR's. I am thinking of going with 165's but I would rather have the 185's but I remember hearing you have to notch the pistons. I have a stock 93 bottom end with an E cam. i have gt-40 tubular intake with ported lower 24# injectors all MSD ignition so what heads would be best for my set-up. Would 185's be to big anyway and I dont plan on a power adder or nitrous at this time. Does anyone know the cheapest place to get them. Thanks

What are your plans for your car? 165's would do you just fine for the street

Im not planning on any power adders right now and im pretty sure im goin wit the 165's just unsure which one they have different options im guessing stud mount rockers are better but do they need more valve cover clearance and where is the cheapest place to get a set

Nothing wrong with the 165s, if you went with a more aggressive cam and intake you'd probably make considerably more power with the 185s but the thing that sold me on the 165s is that it's a 100% bolt on head.

I'm personally running the pedestal mount heads on my car and i'm totally happy with them, stud mount rockers are stronger but with the lift of an E cam you probably won't notice a difference. As for cheapest price I have no idea, i got mine 2 years ago at a place that no longer carries them.

185 and don't look back...have a custom cam made so you don't have to notch pistons and it'll far exceed e cam performance
