Default Motor Swap

Im looking for a 351w to swap into my 87 gt. Now my Q is what yr 351 should i look for? Also it will be carb. I know i need swap headers, oil pan, new fly wheel, and a accessory bracket...anything else im forgetting?

alot of people look for a 69 block for strength, or LOOK FOR AN F4 casting block = roller ready 351

I know the roller blocks are 94+ right??any major difference between the non roller blocks in different years?And would it bolt up to my t5?

No, not really other than the dipstick. I don't know off-hand when they moved it, but the old 351's had the dipstick in the timing cover, and the newer ones have it in the block. Deck height also changed, but quite the minor change, was like .020 or something along them lines. When I built my stroker I went with the roller block, bought a spare in case I hurt this one, as they're quite hard to come by around here.

And yes, roller blocks are 94-96

now about the tranny....would it bolt on?how much hp am i looking at 260rwhp??
