Default wiring question reverse glow guages*pics*

I'm trying to wire some reverse glow gauges and it says to tap into the parking lights power wire and ground.Does anyone know what color these are? I have it all pulled out and there's only about 10 wires on the back of the switch.here's some pics

Use a test light and probe the wires with the parking lights on.

Seems the gauges would be wired to the instrument panel lights?

just spliced the power wire from the gauges to one of the solid brown wires from the HL switch(there was two) and they glow but now the dash lights and needles dont light. I didnt cut any other wires and it was working before. Anybody know whats going on here?

I was too late, for some reason brown is a common wire color for the parking lights.

The needles are lit up by the light that shines up from the bottom. Not sure what gauges you got or how much space they leave to allow light to travel.

You can continue to cut wires or do it the right way and use a test light.
