if it only does it when cold, you could try letting the transmission turn in neutral a while before driving it. I use to do it with mine when it had cold start and it always helped.

Why would it be? You're not shifting while moving into R, same with 1st, so there's no need for a syncro. Just a waste of money and over-complicating a simple piece of technology. No standard has a syncro in reverse, and I have yet to tear one down and see one with a syncro in 1st either.

But as has been said, some tranny's are not very forgiving as far as movement goes when putting it into reverse, T-5 being one of them. Vehicle must be stopped

It was synchronized on some vehicles. Both my 93 Mustang and my Ram have this.

Anyways if you don't have it. Just like said a dozen times, hit a forward gear to force the synchronizer of that gear to stop everything OR disengage the clutch for about 3 seconds. The disc will eventually stop spinning and then you can easily engage reverse.

Guess you never tore down a New Venture NV3500 or a 1993 T5 because these both have them.

My T5 can be engaged into reverse from neutral without hitting a forward gear AND my NV3500 can be engage while rolling forward OR backwards.
