Default New to the automotive game...fox body 5.0

Im trying to figure out which fox bodied mustang i should get stock if i do not buy one modded already.....I just want to kno which year for tha 5.0 came out with tha most power n best overall car to work on?
thank u n any additional info would be appreciated...

Well, I think its starting with 86 they had forged pistons and block (I think) thru 92 I think. Most people will say get the notch cause its a bit lighter I think than the others.

I heard tha notchback 89 5.0 is good im from tha bay area tho home of tha sideshows n all tha **** right i dont want to make nobody cringe but wat can i do to tha car to be functional but still whip(do donuts) hard....i still wanna be able to drive around coo n go hella fast but i wanna be able to show out also......

I know for a fact the 93's had less power. 87-92 is probably your best choice power wise

Power means nothing if you plan to do anything to it. All that really changed between the years was the cam as far as performance goes. Don't by a car based on performance, as chances are you'll be changing that anyways. I like the 92+ cars, which is a personal preference, updated interior and they come with the mini-starter from the factory. Not because I own one, my car started out as an 87, and I converted it to a 92, rear seat belts, front shoulder belt mounting position & air bags were all added to my 87 to convert it fully to a 92. Not to mention all the electrical came out of a 92.

thnk u for tha last post would a 89 be good choice i like tha style i want sm performance to so how could i work tha 89 to do tha few things i got in mind/?

i have an 89 coupe. freakin love the notch, its sex on wheels. lighter, forged, tilt wheel

get suspension and gears...you'll be a happy camper.
