The third wire in the stock connector is what attaches to the new single white wire connector. Have you checked the charging system to see the output of the alt. Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's working. I've sent out my PA unit on my car 3 times for failure and the one on my wife's car once.

What he said. In the stock set up, the white, small wire runs from one connector to the other connector. When you cut off the connector that has the black/orange power wires, you solder the one wire connector onto the white wire. As shown in the pic I posted. My harness is cut open so it looks different than yours will.

wheres the best place to check the charging system out put. Over the battery terminals?

Sorry to keep asking simmiliar question. In the picture you posted it looks like the white wire is hooked up to the thire wire off the ASI connector, [which is how i have mine set up] and i wasnt sure if i needed to be using the third wire off the asi connector or the other connector or if it would make any difference at all.

The white wire went from one connector to the other(hidden inside the harness). All wires need to be reused(unless you remove the black/orange wire from the car). You know what happens to the black wires, and the white wire from the cut off connection is plugged into the top of the 3g.

Basically, now, the white wire runs from the stock connector to the new 1 wire connector. From alternator to alternator.

this shouldnt be this difficult.

cut the square plug off, cap off the orange and black wires. solder on your connector put lugs on your 4 gauge wire and run it to the battery or solonoid or whatever from the back of the alt.

the D plug stays as is, mount the alt, plug it in and your done.

It's not rocket science. It's rather easy as a matter of fact. Really only one wire in question, the small wire on the battery feed plug of the 2G connector. That goes to the single plug in on the 3G. DONE!!
