oil pressure issue on new motor
 

i just built a 302 and i primed the oil pump before i put it on motor. i finally get the motor in and all together and im not getting an oil pressure reading. i took the distributor out and turned the oil pump rod with a drill and socket and i can see the oil flowing. if i turn the rod the clockwise direction however there is a little resistance....any freaking ideas before i have to pull it all out.....cuz i really dont want to do it again

Shouldn't be resistance turning it clockwise, should only be resistance turning in ccw.
