Default Hey Guys! Looking to buy a short throw shifter?

Hey whats up guys. I have a 1988 mustang LX, 5 speed, t-tops with 58k orig. miles. I am looking to install a short throw shifter. My pop thinks I should go with hurst and spend the extra bucks, but I am not sure what kind of shifter to go with. If I could get your feedback I would greatly appricate it. I will be posting pictures up soon...

Thanks, Joe

Shifters are shifters I think, give or take small variations, they all are prtty much the same. Am I right in saying this? I think so. Ive got a Hurst shortthrow, the one that takes the stock boot, I like the stock look. I had another hurst before that had a custom boot, long silver chrome handle and a white ****. Looked okay, but I like stock look. The others that are good are Pro5.0 and triax. As long as it has the bolt stops on the shifter , its a good one. They are all prety much "short throw".

The Tri-Ax he mentions is a Steeda product, it is pretty good. The best is the MGW shifter. They also sell an inner shifter boot that is made for their shifter.

I have a Pro. 5.0 that I love but after looking at the MGW, wow. Wish I would've went that route.
