WTF boys?!?!?!
Hey guys, it's been a while, but I'm broke......there! lol.... SO I went for a drive today for about 40 min, the usual tour time. When I got home I popped the hood just to let it cool off a bit better (it was f'ing hot today). I looked around and seen that 3 of my spark-plug boots and wires were burnt to a crisp. Like white ash crispy . What would cause this???? The car ran fine the whole time, but these wires are F'ED!!!! I got some extra wires to get me by, I just need to know WTF went wrong. Thanx for the help!!!!!!!

I baught them like 2 summers ago. Is that too long for even MSD wires? I'll have to buy new ones regardless now lol. Could moisture inside the wire/boot burn em up too. I've noticed on really humid days (like today) my valve covers and wheels have a little bit of moisture on 'em. Thanx for the speedy reply Mattdel, thats why MF rocks sooooo hard!!!! ANy ideas or different brands of wires would be sweet!!! Let me know thatx dudes/dudets!

Ford Racing 9mm wires are quite popular and pretty much fail proof. Havnt seen a single complaint yet.
And yes, moisture inside the boot would cause that. Electricity jumps to the nearest conductor, and water is a conductor.

When you install the new wires, pickup a tube of this.
Dielectric grease is a NON-conducting grease that seals out moisture. Squirt some inside the boots of BOTH ends of the wires, and never have moisture related ignition problems again.

I got some of that dielectric grease laying around somewhere from when I replaced a couple boots with 90 degree ones. Maybe I'll go put a dab on the old wires for now (I replaced the 3 that burnt). Thanx again for all the help!
