Default door hinge & bushing repair options

Hey guys,

Had the lower hinge with the tension spring replaced on the driver side. New pins and bushings. Problem is, it still sags a bit when the door opens and doesn't quite line up when the door closes. With the door open a few inches, there is still some play when the door is lifted up. When open past half way there is no play.

My mechanic explained how the hole the bushing goes through (connected to the door) is elongated instead of being round. To try to give me another option instead of removing the hinge from the door and welding in a new one, he mentioned possibly getting a bigger pin bushing that will accomodate the size of the original hinge pin, but would be thicker to accomodate redrilling a larger hole to make it perfectly round to eliminate the play in the door hinge hole.

Anyone know of a kit or bushing that would work for this? or know of a different way to fix?

Thanks

1990 GT

Edit: Didn't read your post fully.

I'm not sure who makes a oversize bushing kit.

Yeah X2 on not letting your mechanic mickey mouse it. Its more work to weld in new hinges but worth it.
On a side note did you (or he) attempt to adjust the striker? I replaced my pins and bushings along with the strikers a few months ago and had to play with the strikers a bit to get everything lined up correctly.
