well thats the thing, I had this same driveshaft in my car with the last motor/trans and it didn't do this at all. I did have to put a new yoke on it tho, would that change the balance? or maybe i lost one of the needle bearings or something causing a slight bind?

Theoretically no but a bad job with centering the universal joint and installing the locks may affect it.

Check the caps for needle bearings. If one falls down, it's all over.
