driver window wont roll up

Its all the way down and wont go up.. no noise or anything.. The battery volt gauge moves around when i hit the up button. What can it be? window motor dead?

When this happened on my Avalanche it ended up being the regulator. I bought a new one that had a new motor already attached and it was a fairly easy fix, but I don't know how difficult it is on a Mustang since we definitely don't have the same years.

When the car is on is there a clicking noise when you press up on the switch?

Verify that there's 12V to the motor, and that the track isn't broken or misaligned. Next, make sure the switch is good by testing it's continuity.

You could also bench test the motor with any 12v source.

Does it go up and down without troubles when you don't roll it all the way down?

This is the problem with mine.

window off the track? take off the door pannel and check it out

I'd test the switch to make sure that there's power to the switch and then to the motor itself.

If you don't already have one grab a test light at the parts store.

If you need a window motor PM me with the application and I'll see if we can get yah one.

Theres no noises or anything.. dead silence. Its stuck all the way down. Took the door panel off and messed with the wiring alittle with no luck.

Pull the motor out and hook it to a twelve volt battery and see if it turns. If it does then the nylon bushings in the motor are worn out. An easy (and permanent) fix for this is to replace the three bushings with 5/16" - 18 nuts (6 stacked in 3 stacks). Those bushings are a fail safe so no fingers are cut off so dont get your finger caught between the glass when you do this. If that doesnt fix the issue you likely have a bad switch or wiring.

Kind of a stupid question here but how do you take the window motor out? I looked at it today and it looked pretty hidden in there
