Default V8 Compatiable Transmission

I have an 84' that I'm converting to a 302. The car currently has a C5 transmission and I have heard that the transmission bolts right up to a 302 and I'm wondering if someone can confirm one way or the other? I would like to find out before I have the car up on jacks and have to scramble for a solution. I'm just wanting to get the car rolling before I change the transmission.

Thanks

c-5 is a 6 cyl tranny, it basically is the same look as a c-4 but not as strong, you'd need a c-4 bellhousing I believe......best to go with a c-4 or AOD
