Default Car wont start....

A few months back my starter was giving me some problems, wouldnt start on the first try, etc. Than after it did that every once in a while (for a few months) it just magically stopped doing that and was perfect..... all the way up til last week. All the sudden it wouldnt start and sounds like the starter went but it only has about 2k on it. Anyway, I took the starter off and had it checked and its fine. The starter never turns over just clicks once when I turn the key. Any help on what the hell this could be? I also tried jumping it from the solenoid to see if it was something in the ignition which its not. Could this possibly be the starter solenoid? but if it was the solenoid wouldn't nothing work in the car?

Could be either. Also, check all the connections are tight and clean.

We'll if the solenoid was bad, would I even be able to get a click out of the starter?

if the solenoid was truly bad the starter wouldn't click. if you have a test light and a buddy you can check it real easy. sounds to me like you have a bad cable somewhere in the loop, either the battery ground, or the solenoid to starter cable.
