Default Strange Strut Question

For those with strange adjustables and caster camber plates/coil overs...

Ive got UPR coil over kit and caster camber plates..

Problem is after puting the bearing spacer on the top of the coil over bearing stack i put it through the caster camber brearing and put the small spacer on the shaft and installed the shaft nut.

Well there are NO threads showing and i know that isnt right...im looking for in put from you guys. anyone had similar problems etc..

Hook me up

Ive got steeda cc plates and they said to use a spacer and it left like one or two threads. I said hell no and got id of the spacer. Not how your set up it but mine said to run the lower bushing sleeve(with reduced end) then cc-plate, then other bushing sleeve, then spacer and nut. I just got rid of the spacer.

Mine has lower bushing sleeve, the plate, then says 1 of 2 spacers to leave 2-4 threads. im getting no threads with smallest spacer. just didnt want to put the nut directly on the bearing..thing that is weird is the reduced part of the shaft which would be in effect without coil overs...is actually touching the bottom of the coil spring cap. the shaft cant go through the cap any further...its like maybe it is just a shorter shaft or the UPR CC plates have a taller tower bushing

This is how it should be set up. Is this what you did?

Exactly...

My issue i think is with the C/C plater installation..

http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/yhst-...stallation.pdf

I called and they said to put the large strut spacer on top of the Coil Over set up and raise it into place in the bearing retainer bracket....

then said use either the small or medium spacer to achieve 2-4 threads showing...well with the small spacer installed there are no threads showing. didnt know if just installing the nut without a spacer would damage the bearing

OK, you have to remember, the diagram for your cc plates is showing them used w/ factory struts, not coil overs. That's probably where your problem is. Have you tried swapping the spacers(putting a smaller one where the large one is, or taking it out altogether) I can't remember how mine is set up. Hit up MJR46, he might be able to tell you. He has the same set up. My car is buired in the garage right now and I get get to it to jack it up and look.

The bearing will be protected by the top retaining cover.

Oh, one more thing, you did away w/ the factory rubber mount (bump stop) that sat on top of the strut right?

yeah all of the factory parts are gone. i havent removed the spacer on top of the bearing yet. i left the big spacer on bottom of CC plate cause it has the reduction that fits into the bottom of the CC bearing aligning the strut shaft. i just wasnt sure of putting the bolt directly on the top of the CC bearing would damage it or more likely cause it to bind.. maybe MJR will see this since i guess we cant say names in headings...lol

lol...old school..

Hey by the way..i figured my own dumb *** out..

The step down in the strut shaft has to be seated in the coil over cap for enough threads to show through...

Went on Perfectly...

Its always something stupid
