I've never done one on my mustang, but every other one has just been a matter of using an impact gun and taking off the nut. And transferring all hardware to the new one.

the problem is more keeping it from spinning so i can turn it hard enough with the ratchet. im thinking i may have to take it apart and hold the rotor with vise grips or something

I dont think the belt would hold it. The easiest way is definately with an impact gun, see if you cant find a buddy with one.
