should be threaded at the clutch fork. just tighten the nut till the car starts moving about half way up the stroke.a new cable is a good idea.a 20 year old cable is not.if your going to keep a 5 speed , summit and jegs have a kit that is perfect.

If the cable does need to be replaced, how much do they run, and what is a good brand to get?
Yeah this is my DD too, I'm not sure about clutch cables but I seen one on my local craigslist.org idk if you ever check there but I found one for 20 bucks

Think the Kit with the replacement clutch cable, finger grip firewall adjuster, quick release quadrant, and clutch fork would be the best deal? Won't be able to get it for 2-3 weeks, but I'll bookmark the page for when the time comes.

That's probably what I'll go with. Until then I'll just use Turbosha's advice and adjust it accordingly.

Ah. I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. I got lucky and after adjusting the nut at the Clutch Fork, it's shifting with ease. Still time for a new cable though.
Now, a LOT of pressure is needed to push the clutch down. What could that problem be? I'd like it to be nice and smooth.
