car seems like its not making power
Installed my fresh shortblock w/ GT40p's, B-cam, 1.7's, cobra intake, and underdrives and i'm not impressed at all.......the car is a dog compared to what i thought it would be, i barely notice a difference from when i had the stock motor, runs really good, but just doesn't go anywhere lol

I figured I would pick up at least 20 wheel hp and i thought that would be fairly noticable, whats the deal or am I totally off base

true true, i guess i'm just dissapointed that i put in the time and money don't even feel more power, poor planing on my part, i guess i'll still be getting embarassed by the STI's and SRT4's...[&o]

Read ur post, my car did the exact same thing, and i have a 95 gt 5.0 HO. The harmonic balancer (vibration dampner) is gone, mine actualy split into two pieces. Do Not Drive like this, if your mechanic is within a few blocks, idle it down there, otherwise don't drive the car like it is. Good new is I picked up a new one of these for $50 Canadian at my local auto parts store.

cobra combination actually made close to 270 hp not 235. remember they underated the numbers in 93
GTP heads are alot better for flow and HP then the GT40 ones. they are a newer improved version
but a cobra is faster then a GT in the right hands. a gain of 50hp is a good noticable difference.
now for the motor i would of went with 24# injectors. played with timingmore probably around 15 maybe 16. also did you get new springs for the heads and if you did what spring rate are they? what TB you got?
is this a stick or an auto? what gears you got?[yes it matters to the motor]also you may need a tune to optimize the combination

i'm pretty new here but the 93 cobra made 235hp. the gt-40p probably makes only slighty more than the factory cobra gt-40 heads, intakes the same, underdrive pulleys should get you 8-10hp, rockers im thinking maybe 5-10hp, the B303 is one of fords mild cams compared to like the x or the z so i think if those are the only mods you have then your car is running at or a little quicker than a cobra which is really not all that much faster than a gt, i've driven both.
