can anyone tell me how to get at this thing to clean it?

Well it is a little tight since the pcv is at the very back of the intake so i would just suggest to be careful and pull it out and well.........clean it,there is really no advice i can give you other than take your time.

Yeah,but it might be a little tight,so be careful not to damage it in the process of removing it.

i used a small flat screwdriver and pulled it out and if it gummed up a lot i would replace it

If all else fails try to screw a screw into it then pull it out with pliers then install a new one.

Easy way of doing it is to take upper intake out and pull it out with a little hook and just replacing it its not very expensive.
