Parts ID and PArts delete questions
I have an 5.0 HO out of an '86 Mark 7 that's going in an '70 mustang coupe. Now are there some things i'd like to know.
What are the missing numbers called?
1: EGR
2:
3: Idle thingy?
4: throttle housing
5: throttle cable bracket.
I know i can throw out that EGR, but what about no.2? Can that piece go too?
Second pic:
Overhere, i don't have to pass any emissions, so i don't need it and want to get rid of it. What can go and what must stay on?

Thanks guys, that helps me alot.
So i got another question about the no. 2 on the first picture. The 2 small tubes are connected to the Cooling system, in this case i suspect it's supposed to heat up the cold air in the winter. Can that be plugged of or should it be left alone?
Second:
On de second picture, i can plug off the numbers 2, 3 and 4.
Can i drill out the numbers 2 and 3? cut in some threads etc? Cause i don't want to plug it off with a small hose with an bolt in it, it looks cheap that way.
Thanks,

#2 in pic one is the EGR spacer. The coolant lines are actually to cool it down from the hot exhaust flowing thru the EGR system.
If you are not going to use the EGR system, then you can block them off.
You can buy vacuum caps for next to nothing at auto-zone to block #2 and 3. You will never seen them on the car anyway, but for a couple of bucks, you can buy a vacuum plug kit. No need to drill and tap.

I got a different question, which engine oil should i put in? I'm almost ready to drop the engine in, but i want to fill up the oil and circulate it before i put in the distributor. I work in a BMW motorshop, so i can get Castrol Oil for low €. FYI The engine is all stock.
Which is better? 20w50 mineral of should i go with the 10W40 semi-synthetic? Or something else?
I use 20W50 in my '66 289, mainly cause i don't know the exact condition the engine in is. This one runs strong and no has major prblems so far, except a blown headgaskets 8 monhts ago.
thx
