Default Alternator/charging system problem.

Ok heres my problem, 1970 based 302 carbed. When i purchashed the vehicle it had no battery so i purchased a battery and the vehicle ran fine for about a month then it wouldnt start. You can jump the truck and drive it all day as soon as you shut it down it wont start back up again. The new battery and the alternator tested bad, i replaced both. Now the truck was fine for the last 4 months or so (truck was only driven maybe 500-750 miles in that period) and last couple days its been having trouble turning over. Now it wont start at all again. You can jump it and drive it all day but as soon as it shuts down thats it gotta jump it if u want it to start, anyone have an ideas or could this just be a string of bad luck.

Fire it up and stick a voltmeter on the battery. If you got 14 volts, you're good in that respect. Sounds like a string of bad batteries. Sometimes they just don't hold a charge well.
