Default front frame rail rebuild

I have an 85 hatch that is totally gutted and should have been in the junkyard, but after both rocker panels both floorboards four big holes in the roof ,last 12" of rear frame rails two quarter panels , replaced the whole cowl section, and numerous other rust outs I am at the last area which is the totally gone front frame rails. My original plan was to start building the rail with .089 plate, but I also have enough .080 2x4 tubing left over from the weld in sub frame connectors that I put in to use it also. I guess my question is has anyone out there replaced the frame rails and what they used.

thanks

All I can say is wow I hope you guys Know each other!

If it helps I just got done reading through this thread

Theres a nice write up of his frame rails being redone.

I may be headed down this path? Once I have the motor out I'll know for sure.
Good luck with the rebuild!

This car was a bad move on my part ,but after all we have been through I cannot give up on it like so many people that have no mechanical abilities. Was looking for responses from people that can fabricate. Have strengthened everything from back to front and want to strengthen front also beyond stock without a tube frame.
