......turns out that the rack should measure 45" end to end, and the one i have is only
43 3/4". So i ordered 6" tie rods instead witch will give me an extra 1" to screw onto. Then tonight i get home to see my new off set bushings have arrived and the damn holes in the bushings are 3/8", the pins that came with the bushings are 1/2" and the old bolt measures 1/2"......do i drill out the bushings or what???????

had to drill out the bushings to 1/2", got it all back together realined and it drives great. My front tires are 10" wide and I have no problem turning at low speeds, that was one thing i was worried about. Also had to replace the water pump due to the belt running on top instead of the bottom side when removeing the power steering pump.

How much of a difference does swapping out for a manual rack make? I currently have no power steering with a "power steering" rack. I was considering putting the power steering pump back in because it is a bit difficult for cruising around town. Make jokes if you must haha.
