Default Baer rear disc brake conversion (parking brake)

What will happen if I do not make the parking brake mod for the disc brake conversion?

I have a 1989 LX 5.0

The brake seems to be working fine with out the mod.

With Baers you don't need to do that mod!

This is the instruction/ installation sheet that Baer sent me for my rears and parking brake cables when I installed Baer Brakes on my car 9 yrs ago and what you need to do as far as the parking brake cables; Note Baer makes no reference to modding the e-brake handle in there installation sheet for there rear brakes to hold the car in place when the e-brake is set.
You also don't need to use a bigger brake booster with the Baers the stock brake booster works fine unlike with the M2300K kit where you need to change the stock brake booster.

thats strange. so i wonder if the calipers are different or what, cuz why would you have to mod the cobra kit and not the Baers

Baer has some how figured out a design that works there calipers (and works well in my opinion) just like Baer using the stock brake booster where with the Cobra kit you have to replace the stock booster it's all in the design of things as far as I know.

The must account for the extra tension of the automatic adjuster of the 87+ handles. Does that Baer kit work as well with the 79-86 models, though?
