Default Need help with this one!!

87, 5.0, 5-speed, smog pump delete, underdrive pulley kit, MAF upgraded.

Car will start, rev up to about 5000 then die. I can get it to stay running after a min. or two of feathering the gas. If you try to drive it: as soon as the clutch is fully engaged it seems to stop getting gas and will die unless you go to nuetral and start feathering the gas again.

I have checked/replaced the following: plugs, plug wires, cap & rotor, coil, fuel filter, tps sensor, IAC sensor, timing is set.

96 (O) Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power.

possibly faulty relay, possibly faulty inertia switch, possible bad pump. try hard wiring the pump to a key-on power source, eliminating the relay and switch, see what happens. i don't think it will work, it sounds like the pump is on its way out. sitting in fuel cools them down, so it takes a while for the pump to warm up as well.

have you taken a look at the idle air control valve? you should be able to clean it if nothing else. just google how to clean it.

I just realized that 94 stang revived this thread from 2009 lol
