He has the car set at 8 degrees timing.....Quite sure that's his problem because my car popped when I had it retarded to 8 degrees accidently,

it only pops when i am driving. it wont pop if i rev the engine

Have you set the timign to base which is 10 degrees?

yes its set to 10 now... it still does the popping.....
