Default Rocker question

Well after 2 1/2 years I finally got to fire up my Mustang project 3 days ago. It isn't road ready yet(still have some miscellaneous odds and ends to tie up and it still has one more trip to my buddies body shop) but the engine fires right up no problem and runs like a champ. My question is about rocker noise. I can hear the rockers when the engine is running. It is not loud by any means but I was wondering if it was normal to hear them since they were aftermarket. They are Ford Racing pedestal mount rockers and I torqued them to spec. Any info is helpful. I'd like to thank mjr46 especially for his help with my project. thanks bro

the type of rockers and brand you have should be fairly quiet, at least when I had such they were, make sure the are adjusted properly and geometry is dead on

How do you adjust them? I thought that they were non adjustable rockers.

Did you torque them when the valves were closed? In other words use a wrench to turn the motor over to ensure the valves are closed. (valve covers off.)

No, I just sat each one down and torqued them. I did a little reading on another forum and learned that I need to make sure that each one is on the base circle of the cam so the rocker isn't in a bind. I plan on doing that tomorrow.

Crank the motor until you are sure the valves are fully closed, then torque. That's what I have been told to do and have done.

BTW the rocker can't be bound by the spring(under huge pressure) when the valve is closed.
