Default Vortech v-1 Supercharger, good deal?

I found a guy that is selling a vortech supercharger. It would be for my 86 mustang 5.0 gt. It is the v1 version set up for 9 psi of boost. He never used it, brand new. Looks like everything is there. Supposidely it is the loud version with cross cust gears? It is the basic kit with the t-rex pump, also included is the msd ignition box with boost timing retard, upgraded FMU, one piece crank pulley, 8 rib pulley, and used 30 pound injectors. He was also throwing in a new ford performance liquid filled boost gauge. Retail on everything is like 3200 bucks from jegs/summit. He wants 2200. Sounds like a good deal?? Also, im also going to run a slight cam (need to pass CA emissions), gt40 crate iron heads, gt40 intake, injectors, shorty headers, mass air, TB, all the bolt ons, etc. Looking for approx 400 hp when I'm done. Anyone can give me info on the vortech v1 vs v2 compressor style. Is it just the noise? Any video or sound clips? Thanks!

i don't know anything about the v-1 superchargers, but that sounds like a great deal! jump on it.

400 horsepower should be do able with a custom tune.

The only difference between the V-1 and the V-2 is the sound. V-1's have straight cut gears so they whine a lot more. V-2's utilize helical cut gears which reduces whine.

Id rather have the V-1 .

Edit: Whoops, forgot to answer your first question...

Yes thats a great deal, take it now or someone will kick you in the groin.

Yeah...1000 bucks off from what he's saying sounds like a pretty good deal, good luck with that engine build up someday I hope to have something like that. You gotta love the sound of the whining gears....reminds me of a top fueler.
