Default Are Idling and Cooling connected?

Okay, I think its a dumb question, but I dont understand what happened today. I dropped my car off at a local speed shop to get an alignment and some sub-frame connectors installed. I also figured I would have them look at two problems for me while it was there. One was the battery not keeping a charge (even after charging it and not running the car) the other problem was the idle

They did the alignment and sub frame connectors and Im guessing they werent interested in working on the rest. They told me the battery wouldnt stay charged because it charges it 1100 RPM's. So I asked them to fix the idle, they said I need to keep more anti-freeze in it and thats why idle was off.....

Granted I needed some more anti-freeze, For the life of me, I cant figure out WTF the level of coolant affects the idle (unless it gets hot---the car idles wrong as soon as I start it) I topped it off when I picked up the car and it the idle worked fine. Is it a coincidence or is the shop telling me the truth?

Im not, and the sad part is the shop is a very well known speed shop. Im starting to think they can install stuff but they cant diagnose anything. Im trying to find a better local shop now.

ughhhh, **** poor diagnosis........they are clueless and wrong, if your cars battery keeps going dead and the car is not being used, I'd lean towards a parasitic drain on the battery and to verify such YOU , hook a dvom set to amps in series with the neg battery terminal and see what reading is 25-50 milliamps is a safe draw
