Default air?

Will air in the cooling system throw the gauge off?

Remove thermostat at 12 oclock position drill small hole. As the cooling system is filled the air is removed, no problem. No having to burp the system or risk getting it too warm waiting for thermostat to open because of trapped air.

There's no need to do that on a 5.0 litre. There is already a by-pass passage in the t-stat housing that goes to the water pump.
