HELP...filled up AOD and is leaking...
I am in the process of filling up my AOD and after I got about 9qts in, the fluid started to leak onto the ground. It is not leaking from any of the cooler lines or the fill hole. Is there a plug on top of the AOD or somewhere else I should look for possible leaks?

fill in the details, why are you adding 9 qts to it?? did you drain it?? if so it shouldn't take 9qts unless it's completely rebuilt and no fluid in the tranny or convertor.........did you check the level while it was running ?? you may have it overfull now.....more details on the matter please, this in the internet = 1 dimentional = we can not read minds!!

Ok...the details...the motor and tranny were pulled and separated so I could clean them up and do a few mods. Prior to mating the motor and tranny again, I filled up the torque converter with around 2 qts (it was full). I dropped the motor and tranny back in. I was attempting to refill the tranny and right around 8-9qts I'm assuming, it started leaking out of the tranny. It is not from the coolant lines, dipstick or pan, it is coming from the top of the tranny. Any ideas?

you're forgetting the converter holds about 3, the lines & cooler had another 1 or 2 in them, the trans internals probly had some left in it.
if all you did was drop the pan, you only needed to add 3 quarts, 4 TOPS. you're currently blowing oil of the vent. the internals don't need to be submerged in oil, thats what the pump is for. |
the overflow tube is up there, have you started the car up to check the level?????
