Default Putting in a new clutch

I'm putting a new clutch in my 1995 gt Monday morning. Right now it seems hard to shift it all around. Its drivable but it just doesn't seem like it should be. The clutch that is in it now has 180,000 miles on it. I'm hoping that the clutch is not disengaging 100% so its making it a little difficult to shift. Is this possible and will a new clutch make this any better? I'm just hoping there is no tranny problems.

it might

if the clutch is engaging about 1 1/2" off the floor it is working properly though

did you adjust it at all ?? the stock adjustment is by lifting the pedal up hard... then push it in a couple times... then lift it again and just do the whole thing til it stops "ratcheting"

Not to hijack but I wanted to ask I tried pulling my pedal up and don't hear or feel anything.does that mean there is no adjustment?I feel like the pedal is about to break off when I pull it up.

You can manually adjust it too by pushing the gears away from eachother. I've done it for a few customers looking for a more positive clutch pedal, I don't suggest it, but I do what I'm told at work.

But yes, if you lift it up, you don't have to lift up hard, just lightly until it stops, will only move say about a half inch over its resting place, if it doesn't click, it's adjusted as far as the factory is concerned.
