Default trying to loosen distributor

im trying to advance my timing because its only at 7 degrees. but which bolt do you loosen to turn the distributor? any pics, and do u need a special tool? thanks

1/2 or 9/16 bolt at the base of the distributor. i forget which. they do make a special tool to be able to get to it easier, but you can get it with a wrench. just watch out for the fan.

depends on the year i think. mine is 9/16 and i use a 1/4 drive ratchet and socket. piece of cake.
