Default No center point in steering..car wanders

Car wanders all over the road i just picked it up..shook down front end-good.

Stock rear control arms Tubular front A arms Coilovers up front not slammed barely lowered. steering wheel 90 degrees off center almost! but get this it doesnt pull at all. it just wanders

Common thing for foxes?

Manual rack is going in, upper and lower arms for the rear are going in as well as subframe connectors. Would any of the above cause the wander? i blasted 1st and 2nd today and it just went sideways lol. WTF? Need Torque boxes maybe?

get an alignment to start. Then check your rear end control arm bushings and torque boxes, but I think it is all alignment issues.

Find out where the alignment is at. Chances are it's toed out and/or has 0-negative caster. Also check for free play in the steering linkage. With the car stationary can you turn the wheel without the tires turning?

any car with a rubber joint in the steering shaft will have some free play in the wheel.

That's true, but it's minimal. If steering linkage is worn heavily there will be a considerable amount of free play. I've seen cars where you could turn the wheel a full 1/4 turn either way before the wheels responded. That's scary to drive.

Thats how mine is its scary o drive..steering wheels turned 90 degrees almost and car wanders all over the place due to the free play. Might be the steering box but seems like it could be the rack. Looks like flaming river is getting an order soon manual racks ftw

Are you saying you can crank the wheel 90* one way and back the other and the car doesn't respond? Or that the wheel is just cocked 90* to one side?

It's almost 90 degrees to one side but it varies sometimes its only 45 degrees to one side. Now get this in all its looseness if i let go of the wheel it wont pull it stays straight. Somethings definatly going on im flushing the power steering lines this weekend and ordering a steering shaft from flaming river eliminating the rag joint.

Should i go maunal with the rack? Is power steering that heavy or that much of a drag on the motor if im driving straight?
