Battery disconnected, bad idea?

Battery disconnected, bad idea?
Ok this should be an easy question and I wanted everyone’s opinion. I don’t drive my mustang every day and it’s more of a "nice day" driver. To prevent the battery from dyeing on me all the time I disconnect the battery when I park it at my house. I live in a town house so I can’t run an extension cord with a battery tender out to my car. i only get to drive it every other weekend due to my schedule. What kind of problems could I run in to? Is it bad to leave the battery disconnected for long periods of time?
Thanks for the help

Well, if you have a custom tune on it and it wasn't really programed into the ECU, you could lose it. Other then that, I'm not sure you're doing anything wrong at all. Car wise anyway. I'd trickle charge the battery when not in use to keep it in good working order though. You could put it on some wood and just trickle it for the remaining time you aren't driving it. I'm sure you could find a place to do that, even inside a town house =)

If you're parking it for winter, I'd highly recommend disconnecting the battery. Or better yet, take it out and put it in your house in the basement or something since you're leaving it at home, that way it can't freeze if it's not the greatest battery to begin with. That's how fires start in winter, people don't disconnect their battery while storing the car. Mice and other rodents will eat insulation, if they chew the wrong wire...
The place I used to store my car burnt down a couple years ago just because of this, luckily, I stopped storing my car there that year.
