Stupid '86 headlight question.
I'm sorry to ask such stupid questions but:
When you turn on your high beams do your low beams cut off?
Low beams are outside & high beams are inside, right?
My high beam switch was messed up so I pulled it out & thought I had fixed it. I went to test the lights & the low beams came on just fine. I click to the high beams & they come on, but the low beams stay on so all 4 lights are on.
Just want to make sure it's right, otherwise I'll have to pull the switch apart & find out what I screwed up.

when you pull the stalk foward, before it clicks, all 6 filaments are lit, the 2 low beams and 4 high beams, this is the "flash-to-pass" feature. Once the stalk clicks, the two low beam filaments turn off.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think my car has flash to pass. I haven't pulled the low beams out yet but I thought the bulb only had 2 wires on it like the high beam.
I'll find out for certain later this week when I finish my HID install.
