Default prob:hesitation/surge at 2500-3000rpm

i have a 1988 mustang lx 5.0 and have all new ignition system but have a hesitation/surge at 2500-3000rpms and dont know what is causing it....any ideas?

is your timing set correctly? did you remove your distributor?

i have tried timing and even went from top dead center for new distributor after installing it.....have heard maf causing issue is it possible?

well clean the maf and try again. best bet is to pull codes koeo/koer self tests.

Yep, could be a dirty MAF or possibly a bad TPS sensor. Definitely do the code check first.

whats the fuel pressure suppose to be at during Idle and at higher rpms?

vaccuum leaks and

fuel press is supposd to be around 35 or so at idle. did you ever clean your maf. i was having this same prob and it was the maf.
