Oil pressure guage problems
#21
I cant add to much to this.
Other then my car's oil pressue has been doing the same thing for over six month's and i beat the snot out of my car with no issue.
Im going of the stock gauge though.
I have a autometer oil pressure and temp gauge sitting waiting for install, just been to lazy!
good luck.

put a mechanical gauge on it like already mentioned.
my last mustang had less than 20psi at idle and ran consistent 14.1's in the 1/4 mile with few bolt-ons... AOD car to boot
lucas oil stabilizer will increase idle pressure by filling in the clearances in the bottom-end of the motor.

I wouldnt recomend doing that, you can chance clogging the oil pickup screen if its not already I would first remove the sending unit and plug in a oil pressure tester to the sending unit I just did a 351W pickup at work and the sending unit was on the block by the oil filter might be the same idk. I used a mechanical gauge. Let us know what happens

I got the Lucas oil stabilizer and it did not help. Still goes down to 10 psi after driving for awhile. Pan is coming down in the morning and putting in new oil pump. I am praying for good results!

Not good news for my 89 vert. replaced the oil pump and still only getting 10 psi's at idle after running for about 30 minutes. I think I will be putting the car up for sale. I need a more dependable daily driver. Thanks all for your help. don't worry thou. I will not let you all get rid of me that easy. I will be back with a new to me stang in the near future!

why not just keep it? i drove my previous mustang everyday for 2 years and it would dip below 20 psi at idle sometimes. i also drag raced that car every week.. made over 200 passes the summer of '07.
you really worry too much.
