Had a block that was o ringed and I decked it to take out the o ring groves. Was told that it will cause the piston to stick out the block is this true?

I believe you may be able to get a thicker headgasket but you'll really need to check all clearances

well it all depends on if the piston was in the hole or if it was zero decked when it was
O-ringed you should have mocked up the engine with the pistons you were gone to use to see if had the room to take the O-ring grooves out. but if it does stick out you could get thicker gasket to make up some of the difference if you need to Cometic sell them them are not cheap but they are good.
