I cleaned the threads of the black exhaust and everything PB blasted it all the basics are checked. I want to test drive my car I just put a lot of goodies in

I have been killing my hands doing the same thing today. I have read every thread on here and it appears that the consensus is 5/8 11. I bought two 5/8 11 bolts today (2") and cut them down to 3/4". Smoothed out the edges and then used a thread file to finish them off. A nut goes right on the bolts. I got the one in on the passenger side but it will only go in about 1/2 way then stops. I have been trying on and off all day to get the driver's side in and it WILL NOT START!!!!!!!! I agree it seems to be too big. Just for Sh..s and giggles I am going to get a 9/16 tomorrow and see what it feels like. Somebody on here must have been successful at this and can provide the master knowledge that we all so desire.

you need to run a tap through to clean all the crap out of the threads
